Take a Chance

Here is the little guy that kept me busy last weekend - Chance, the grey cat. It's sad though because this is a pet memorial. Projects like this always remind me of my own dearly departed pets. Their pictures keep me company everyday.

At least, even in a small sculpture, Chance's human companion would have a keepsake that sits like the adorable cat I'm sure Chance was.

Missing Missy

One of my mom's dear friends ordered a custom pet sculpture from me a few months back but she's only had the chance to give it to her friend recently. Her friend has been mourning the loss of her dog Missy, and she wanted to give her a memorial of her beloved pet. It was sad working on this piece, I've lost pet dogs over the years and I know the heartbreak it brings.

After the order was completed, she sent me a lovely message about how alike the custom pet sculpture and the real Missy was. And the other day, when she was finally able to give the custom dog sculpture to her friend, she sent me these photos.

Thank you for sharing these photos. I am glad to know that even though Missy is not there with her anymore, she will never be forgotten. I am hoping that Missy finds her way back to her or if not, to a new home that will love her just as much.

Custom pet sculptures

These past few days, I've been busy playing with canine friends. Well, I would love the real interaction but so far it's been playing with polymer clay to recreate man's best friend.

Meet Essa for example, her loving companions asked for her likeness. They sent photos and I noticed how Essa always sits with a hind relaxed flat on the floor while the other is up. It's those adorable details that make our pets so unique. And this little details captured in a sculpture makes it a perfect gift for a pet lover whatever the occasion.

I will be posting more samples in the coming days. In the mean time, to see more samples, please go to my Facebook page (just click this link).
