That loop

Umm... this is not an arts and crafts post... sorry about that.

I just came back from the cinema, the Dubai premiere of LOOPER - you see, our sister site is www.kitschmovies.com and every now and then I get the chance to see movies here before they start their regular showing.

But don't worry, no spoilers here. Aside from the actual published movie synopsis, which is:
In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.

LOOPER was one I was looking forward to, because the story revolves around time travel. It's soft sci-fi but they looped the whole thing quite well - and yes, I do love their chose of word for the title.

There was no point in the movie that my brained screamed, "BUT WAIT! That can't happen, because of blah, blah, blah".

Everything was nice and neatly tied together, the characters had depth and the story was definitely satisfying.

Three cheers to Rian Johnson for writing and directing this. So, if you get the chance, go watch it. :)

Tomorrow, I'm back to clay work. Gotta finish that Star Wars - inspired set! I'm down to four so five more to go.
